USB-C on the Icom IC-705

One issue I have with the Icom IC-705 was the lack of a USB-C connector for charging and data transfer. In addition, the amplifier keying lines were a little underpowered with limitations in current draw. This upgrade fixes all of these issues.

How to set an Opening Picture on the Icom IC-705

The Icom IC-705 has the ability to set a opening picture that is briefly displayed at power ON. To set the displayed picture, a microSD card is required and the picture converted to a format that the IC-705 can read.

In this video I show the simple steps to convert a picture using Windows and Irfanview and load up a startup picture.

Does the Icom IC-705 drift in frequency? The results may surprise you! In this video I put that to the test with my IC-705 using WSPR.

The radio was set to transmit 5W and received by my GPS locked IC-9700 at my remote station.
